Last week Connor was so proud....he had just decorated his cape just the way he wanted it (it has little pieces on it that velcro and can be moved around). He was so proud and spread it out on the floor for me to admire.
After we were done looking at it we walked away for a minute.
Brennan took that minute to come in for a little fun and destroy his brothers work.
Connor walked back into the room and cried, "BRENNAN!"
I replied, "Brennan that wasn't very nice."
He looked up at me with the honary 3 year old look.
To Connor I said, "Remember....kind and gracious."
I was so proud of my big boy...he didn't say another word or retaliate. He simply sat down and started fixed what had been destroyed. The entire time he was muttering under his breath, "kind and gracious......kind and gracious....kind and gracious".
How many times does something not go the way I want or someone comes in and messes up my design. I am sad to say that I am not always so kind and gracious....but after watching it's effects on others I am sure going to try and be that person.
A few nights later at Women of Faith Steven Curtis Chapman was being introduced. He was described as the most Kind and Gracious person that she knew. My ears perked up and I thought...wow from what I have heard and read about Steven Curtis Chapman...I hope that Connor grows up to be that type of person too.
