13 Years On The 13th!

Okay so one of my friends wrote the nicest Blog post to her husband on their anniversary a couple of weeks ago..... it truly was so sweet so I thought I would post one as well. This would have been much easier to write if I had done it last night instead of today when I have 3 children pulling at me and making me crazy as I try to write now :)

Where do I begin.......today is our 13 year anniversary....I can hardly believe it. On one hand it seems like yesterday that we stood before friends and family and promised to love each other through everything and on other hand it seems like ages ago.

It seems like it was just the other day that I could barely remember Dan's name. We were both in Campus Crusade but had different groups of friends so we really didn't know each other. In all fairness Dan never remembered who I was either and always mixed me up with another person. Then in the summer of 1994 we were on a leadership team together and I wondered how I had never remembered who this guy was. He was so sweet and made me smile.....we could talk for hours.....and so our story together began.

Together we have moved 8 times, lived in 4 states, had 3 kids, bought and sold houses, both been through graduate school together, lived apart 2 times because of jobs, traveled many wonderful places before and after kids. Though the last 13 years haven't been perfect-I wouldn't have done them without him. He is patient and realistic yet finds a way to make my crazy ideas happen and still makes me smile. He is a wonderful father who reads at least 2 books to our boys every night and teaches them the important things in life like how to throw a football and to be a good sport.

Now it seems that our time together is filled with changing diapers and cleaning up toys not as fun and glamorous as it used to be but wonderful all the same. I wish we could slow down time a little so we could enjoy the journey a little more together because at this rate I will blink and 13 more years will go by before I know it.

Dan-Thanks for making the journey of life with me.....I love you....and look forward to the next 13 years with you.
